A Lost Sheep.

About three years ago I became a Christian. I'm not sure what that really means. I do know however that three years ago I allowed two men to be part of my life whole heartily. I said yes to a man here on earth and I said yes to the man who looks from above. I have dedicated my life to both. I have dedicated love, time, trust, and perseverance with each. And in return both have shown me the same. My husband however is a little easier to understand, grasp, communicate with and hold. And even though both have their times of doubt, hardship and misunderstandings, the relationship with the one above struggles the most. To be identified as a Christian is the most common understanding for people. I like to think of myself as a whimsical being given the greatest chance in life - to have faith and the beauty of Grace.

Before I started on the journey with God, I was a lost sheep in a meadow seeking my shepherd. I didn't know at the time that certain people in my life were helping me find my way. I can see now, through my life that each time I strayed a little to the left or a little to the right another sheep found its way on my path.

A simple book was given to me by a person who has had immeasurable influence without knowledge on my life. Someone with whom I have shared great stories, moments, growth, downfalls and questions. Someone I am forever grateful peeked over the fence, gabbled in the titanic room and walked with me in search of the perfect candle, scallop and ideal terrace house. Thank you.

I have selected a few of my favourite extracts. And they are only a few from the many.

In order to be truthful
We must do more than speak the truth.
We must also hear.
We must also receive truth.
We must also act upon truth.
We must also search for truth.
The difficult truth.
Within us and around us.
We must devote ourselves to truth.
Otherwise we are dishonest
And our lives are mistaken.
God grant us the strength and the courage
To be truthful.

Amen.

We give thanks for the invention of the handle. Without it there would be many things we couldn't hold on to. As for the things we can't hold on to anyway, let us gracefully accept their ungraspable nature and celebrate all things elusive, fleeting and intangible. They mystify us and make us receptive to truth and beauty. We celebrate and give thanks.

Amen.

God help us to change. To change ourselves and to change our world. To know the need for it. To deal with the pain of it. To feel the joy of it. To undertake the journey without understanding the destination. The art of gentle revolution.

Amen.

To you all. May you acknowledge your sheep and find your shepherd. x
